Marketplace Disclaimer
Understanding the role of SIP SOCIETY as a marketplace facilitator.
Last updated: August 12, 2026
SIP SOCIETY operates as a digital marketplace connecting travelers with independent wine professionals and service providers.
Each provider is solely responsible for the services they offer, including pricing, availability, cancellations, insurance, licenses, taxation and legal compliance.
SIP acts exclusively as the marketplace facilitating bookings and payments.
What this means for you
When you book an experience through SIP SOCIETY, the contract for the experience itself is formed directly between you and the independent provider. SIP is not a party to that contract and does not provide the wine experience, tasting, tour or event.
Provider independence
Providers are independent professionals — wine guides, wineries and academies — who list their own services, set their own prices and manage their own availability. They are responsible for holding the appropriate professional licenses, insurance and tax registrations required under Portuguese law.
Our role
SIP SOCIETY's role is limited to operating the digital platform that facilitates discovery, booking requests, communication and secure payment processing. We do not supervise, employ or control Providers, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
Payments
Payments are processed securely through Stripe and held in escrow until the experience is completed or a valid invoice is released, as described in our Booking Policy and Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, SIP SOCIETY is not liable for any loss, injury, damage or inconvenience arising from an experience delivered by a Provider. Any claim relating to the delivery of a service should be addressed to the relevant Provider.
