Cancellation & Refund Policy
Our policy for cancellations, refunds and force majeure situations on the SIP SOCIETY marketplace.
Last updated: August 12, 2026
1. Overview
This policy sets out how cancellations and refunds are handled for experiences booked through SIP SOCIETY. Because Providers are independent professionals, the availability and delivery of each experience is their responsibility, and SIP acts solely as the marketplace facilitating the booking and payment.
2. Cancellation by the traveler
- More than 7 days before the experience: full refund of the base price and service fee.
- Between 3 and 7 days before: 50% refund of the base price; service fee non-refundable.
- Less than 3 days before: no refund, unless the Provider agrees otherwise.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method used at checkout. Processing times depend on your card issuer.
3. Cancellation by the provider
If a Provider cancels an accepted booking, you will receive a full refund of the base price and service fee. Where possible, we will help you find an alternative experience or provider.
4. No-show
If you do not attend the experience at the agreed time and place, no refund will be issued unless the Provider agrees otherwise.
5. Force majeure
Where a cancellation is caused by circumstances beyond the reasonable control of either party — including natural events, public health emergencies or government restrictions — we will work with you and the Provider to arrange a rescheduled date or a full refund.
6. How to request a cancellation or refund
- Open the relevant booking and select Cancel.
- Alternatively, contact us at hello@sipsociety.pt with your booking reference and reason.
- Approved refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days.
7. Disputes
If you believe a Provider has not delivered the agreed service, contact us within 7 days of the experience. We will review the case and may, at our discretion, facilitate a refund from the escrowed funds. SIP's role is limited to facilitating the resolution; we do not guarantee a specific outcome.
8. Marketplace disclaimer
SIP SOCIETY operates as a digital marketplace. Each Provider is solely responsible for the services they offer, including pricing, availability, cancellations, insurance, licenses, taxation and legal compliance.
