Terms & Conditions
The terms governing your use of the SIP SOCIETY marketplace and the services offered through it.
Last updated: August 12, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using the SIP SOCIETY website and marketplace, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Definitions
- Marketplace: the SIP SOCIETY digital platform that facilitates bookings between Users and Providers.
- Users / Travelers: individuals browsing and booking experiences.
- Providers: independent wine guides, wineries and academies offering services through the Marketplace.
- Experience: any tasting, tour, journey or event listed on the Marketplace.
3. The role of SIP SOCIETY
SIP SOCIETY operates exclusively as a digital marketplace facilitating bookings and payments. We are not a party to the contract for the Experience itself, which is concluded directly between the User and the Provider. Each Provider is solely responsible for the services they offer, including pricing, availability, cancellations, insurance, licenses, taxation and legal compliance.
4. Your account
You must register an account to book experiences or list services. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and be responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to register and book.
5. Using the marketplace
- Use the Marketplace only for lawful purposes.
- Do not misrepresent your identity or provide false information.
- Do not attempt to bypass booking or payment systems.
- Respect Providers and other Users; harassment or abusive behaviour will result in account removal.
6. Bookings
Bookings are made subject to our Booking Policy and the availability published by each Provider. A booking request must be confirmed by the Provider. Until confirmation, no binding agreement exists for the Experience.
7. Payments and escrow
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. A 15% service fee is added on top of the Provider's price to support the Marketplace. Funds are held in escrow until the Experience is completed or an invoice is uploaded and released, as described in our Booking Policy and Cancellation & Refund Policy.
8. Provider responsibilities
Providers are independent professionals. They remain fully responsible for the legality and quality of their services, pricing, scheduling, insurance coverage, professional licenses, taxation and any other legal obligations. SIP does not employ, supervise or control Providers.
9. Reviews
Users may leave reviews for completed Experiences. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experiences. We may remove reviews that are false, abusive or otherwise violate these Terms.
10. Prohibited conduct
- Listing or requesting illegal services.
- Serving alcohol to minors or intoxicated individuals in breach of Portuguese law.
- Discriminatory behaviour of any kind.
- Spam, fraud or misleading content.
11. Intellectual property
All content on the Marketplace — including branding, design, text and software — is owned by or licensed to SIP SOCIETY. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute it without our prior written consent. Providers retain ownership of the content they submit.
12. Liability
SIP SOCIETY acts solely as a marketplace facilitator. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the acts, omissions or services of Providers, nor for any loss arising from an Experience. Our liability is limited to the service fee collected for the relevant booking.
13. Disputes
We encourage Users and Providers to resolve disputes directly. If a dispute cannot be resolved, you may contact us for assistance. These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Marketplace after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
