Wine Guide Terms
The terms under which independent wine guides list and offer experiences on SIP SOCIETY.
Last updated: August 12, 2026
1. Independent professional status
By listing experiences on SIP SOCIETY, you confirm that you operate as an independent professional and not as an employee, agent or representative of SIP SOCIETY. You are solely responsible for the conduct of your business, the services you deliver and all legal obligations arising from your activity.
2. Your responsibilities
- Pricing: you set your own prices and are responsible for their accuracy.
- Availability: you manage your calendar and respond to booking requests within 24 hours.
- Insurance: you maintain any required public liability and professional insurance.
- Licenses: you hold all licenses and permits required to offer your services in Portugal, including any required for the serving of alcohol.
- Taxation: you are responsible for registering with the Portuguese tax authority, issuing receipts and declaring income in accordance with applicable law.
- Quality & safety: you deliver the experience as described and ensure the safety and wellbeing of your guests.
3. The role of SIP SOCIETY
SIP acts exclusively as a digital marketplace facilitating bookings and payments. We do not supervise or control how you deliver your services, and we are not a party to the contract between you and the traveler.
4. Service fee and payment
A 15% service fee is added on top of your listed price and retained by SIP SOCIETY. Payments are processed securely through Stripe and held in escrow until the experience is completed or a valid invoice is uploaded and released, as set out in our Booking Policy.
5. Listings and content
You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing — including descriptions, images, location and availability. Content must be truthful, not misleading and must not infringe the rights of third parties. We may remove listings that violate these terms.
6. Cancellations
If you cancel an accepted booking, the traveler will receive a full refund and you may be subject to penalties under our Cancellation & Refund Policy. Repeated cancellations may result in suspension of your account.
7. Compliance with law
You agree to comply with all applicable Portuguese and EU laws, including those relating to alcohol service, consumer protection, data protection (GDPR) and anti-discrimination.
8. Reviews
Travelers may leave reviews after completed experiences. Reviews are published in good faith. You may respond to reviews but may not solicit fake reviews or attempt to manipulate ratings.
9. Term and termination
You may stop listing services at any time by pausing or removing your listings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, act unlawfully or damage the integrity of the marketplace.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts.
